Maserati: The rumor of a V8 diesel

Maserati: The rumor of a V8 diesel - Discovering the new Maserati Ghibli, we discovered the arrival of L Biturbo V6 diesel engine with a power of 3.0 275 hp.

If this engine is perfectly matched to the Ghibli, it may be just a little on the Quattroporte and the version Upscale future SUV Levante who will fight against the BMW X5 and X6 M50d who develop some 386 hp. Not to mention the Cayenne, ML or Q5 and Q7 offer or propose punchy diesel versions.

Thus, according to Car & Driver, the Fiat Group is currently working with a turbo diesel engine 4.0 L cubing and announced a power between 360 and 375 hp. Marco Marelli in Car & Driver, also speaks a torque of 624 Nm, which seems a little short against the 740 Nm of BMW L6 3.0 L or 850 Nm V8 4.2 L Porsche. It is a little surprised by the value that is very close to that of "small" V6 3.0 L diesel Biturbo that sends up to 600 Nm Fiat could install this unit on several models of group (Europe and USA), also speaks a combined fuel consumption of 7.8 L/100 km. All this is to check if the engine is to be released in 2015 before being placed on the market in 2016.
