In 2005, Honda introduced a hybrid variant of its high Accord sedan. Following more than mediocre sales, the Japanese manufacturer had to cease production of its model in 2007.

Today, we learn that his 9th generation of Accord sedan will be available in Hybrid.

A new way of doing
The engine used is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, this time Atkinson cycle, which develops a power of 137 hp. It is associated with an electric motor which is to add 166.

The Hybrid Honda Accord PHEV announced a total power of 196 hp.

A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 6.7 kWh is also used.
All this is accompanied by a CVT transmission.

According to the manufacturer, the car has a range of around 25 km in all-electric mode.

For fast charging
Honda claims that the battery can be recharged in four hours via a household outlet or an hour and a half on a 240 volts.

The Honda Accord Hybrid sedan will be found in concession to the summer of 2013.
