BMW 1 Series Designed in Longer Dimension

Exterior Design
The front of the car is dominated by the large BMW kidney-shaped radiator grille, boldly shaped headlight units and three-section air intake.

The grille is tilted forwards, adding emphasis to the challenging stance of this most sporty of compact models, while the surrounding areas catch the light and create a strong sense of three-dimensionality, with four contour lines on the bonnet forming a V that points towards the grille.
The typical BMW double-round headlights have accent trim across their tops. In combination with the optional bi-xenon headlights, this creates a strongly focused look, powerfully enhanced by the direction indicators set into the inner light rings of the headlights and an LED accent light. In another innovation for BMW, the side indicator lights are integrated in the exterior mirrors.
From the side, the proportions of the new BMW 1 Series are even more strikingly apparent. The slightly sloping roof line, sporty, angled rear windscreen and flat side windows give the car a coupé-like feel, while the Hofmeister kink – the low forward bend at the back end of the side windows – extends well into the C-pillar, making the door aperture wider and facilitating entry to and exit from the rear seats.
The design quality of the new BMW 1 Series, which is unique in the compact segment, is particularly evident in the distinctive BMW lines and dramatically curved surfaces.
The characteristic BMW swage line starts at the front sidewall and rises continuously to the rear lights, its boldness giving powerful emphasis to the shoulder area, with the door openers neatly integrated into the swage line.
An additional character line below the doors flows sharply upwards into the outline of the rear wheel arch.
The sill line provides a similarly dynamic touch, running parallel to the road and then rising steeply at the rear wheel arch, which is nicely echoed by the outlines of the side windows.
The size of the rear wheel arches draws attention to its rear-wheel-drive layout which is the reason for its excellent dynamic responses.
The wide-set wheel arches reinforce the broad, powerful impression created by the back of the new BMW 1 Series.
The wide-opening, slightly concave tailgate is opened by pressing the top section of the BMW emblem that sits at its centre, and the rear lights are also set well apart, creating a strong horizontal emphasis that is heightened by their deep surrounds.
There are optional xenon headlights, and the rear lights consist of L-shaped banks of LEDs. An additional brake light is set into the roof spoiler.
The outline of the rear apron echoes that of the front bumper, while the V-shaped emblem surround leads the eye towards the road surface, emphasizing the new BMW 1 Series’ stable roadholding.

New Unimog Truck From Mercedes-Benz

Futuristic Unimog Truck Variant from MBS

The official pictures and reviews below tell the amazing performance and design of the Mercedes-Benz called Unimog. This special truck design is presented in futuristic design and aimed to welcome the 60thanniversary for Unimog truck variant. This futuristic Unimog truck concept is developed by Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks (MBS). The design of this new truck variant follows the concept of U 5000 version which was produced by the MBS development team collaborates with the commercial vehicle designers namely Daimler in Sindelfingen.
Press Release:
Mercedes-Benz Unimog Concept – The Design
As an analogy to the very first Mercedes-Benz Unimog of the product range 2010 which was built in 1951, the Unimog concept has an open cab.
Unimog Truck
The distinctive, dynamic and extremely expressive “face” previews the future form language of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle design.
The Unimog design concept is based on the Unimog U 5000 chassis with its trademark coil springs, which are painted red in the concept vehicle, whereas Bertrand Janssen and his team have let the hood with its typical Mercedes-Benz line and the mudguards in a fresh green.
This unusual color scheme was inspired by an unusual amphibian, the poison dart frog: “Just like the Unimog it is also extremely mobile both in water and on land. And furthermore in this point it is once more the link between past and future as green was the color of the very first Unimog and numerous follow-up generations of the vehicle.”
The headlights are like stage lights, which focus the beam of light. The clearly visible, sweeping lines of the frame have been finished with high-grade trims cut from aluminum blocks.
The four same-size wheels make a strong optical impression with their five star alu-rim design.
“We have taken the Unimog-DNA with its unique concept features to 100 percent into consideration when creating this design concept,” says Bertrand Janssen from the Daimler department for commercial vehicle design.
Yaris Pürsün, Director of the Mercedes-Benz Plant at Wörth and Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks, has commented: “At Mercedes Benz Special Trucks we decided to construct a design concept because we are of the opinion that such a vehicle will act as a bridge between the progressive strength of self-renewal that has distinguished the Unimog program for 60 years and the future design of the coming generations of products.”
Bertrand Janssen emphasizes, “On no account did we work in an atmosphere where our ideas were divorced from reality.
“Here we have a vehicle which is puristic, but still clearly true to concept – with the claim, that some of its details will turn up in coming product ranges in future.
“We continued to take up the most important Unimog features which have characterized the vehicle for the last 60 years and which will also characterize it in future – features such as portal axles, coil springs or the frame concept.”

New Kia KV7 Concept

Sporty Van Concept, KV7

Here is  new Kia KV7 car concept. This KIA KV7 is a result of design research which is developed to create modern fan which is presented in boxy design and features an interior design inspired by lounge. The car is also presented with spacious rear gull wing. This KIA KV7 is very suitable for accommodating large number of passenger or for going to vacation. The design language of this stylish van is adjusted with the “sporty and dynamic” design character. Below are several images preview of this KIA KV7 and complete description from the manufacturer.

Exterior Design
The exterior of the KV7 was inspired by modern smart phones and classic pieces of luggage. The KV7?s wide stance is paired with an A-pillar and windshield design that is more vertical than traditional minivans and its smooth exterior skin and 20-inch wheels exude a modern appearance while projecting the confidence and strength of an SUV.
Kia KV7
The KV7 concept’s most striking feature is its passenger-side gullwing door, which creates a massive point-of-entry to the lounge-like interior when opened in conjunction with the pillar-less front passenger door.
The front end is characterized by an interpretation of Kia’s signature bold tabbed grille with vertical LED headlamps integrated within the design.
The KV7 features several LED lighting elements that Kia’s design team is evaluating for future production vehicles, including a continuous line of LED fog lights that span the entire front end of the vehicle and directional turn indicators on the outside mirrors and the rear of the vehicle that pulse in the direction being signaled.
The KV7 concept’s distinctive windshield follows the designs found on the new Sportage CUV and Optima midsize sedan, and a series of near-continuous windows starting at the A-pillar provide uninterrupted views of a day at the beach or a night out on the town.
Despite its non-traditional look, the KV7?s length (191.85 in.), width (80.0 in.) and wheelbase (122.0 in.) are consistent with the van segment and allow flexible seating configurations and a multitude of storage options.
Interior Design
In the process of rethinking what a van’s exterior appearance and image could be, Kia’s Southern California design team also envisioned an interior to meet the needs of an entirely new group of consumers – a group of people referred to as “Ringleaders.”
Rather than using a van to transport children and their accompaniments, Ringleaders are busy organizing road trips, social outings and new adventures for themselves and their friends to experience together. As such, the KV7 concept’s interior employs four custom-built swiveling seats, including the driver’s seat, and a rear-corner mini-lounge with seating for three and integrated storage compartments to promote interaction in an open social environment.
The simple yet sophisticated theme is brought to life inside the KV7 concept through its modern color palette featuring soft beige and green tones and the use of unique seat and surface materials. The KV7 utilizes a variety of unconventional textures, including reclaimed teak wood flooring and sustainable wool and felt materials help to foster a warm and inviting atmosphere.
When the KV7 concept’s push button start is engaged, the entire front dash moves more than six inches toward the driver, bringing all controls within easy reach, including the large multi-use display which integrates infotainment, climate and navigation systems in one simple-to-use interface controlled by a trackball mouse mounted in the dash.
Rear passengers have their own, separate interface in the form of a floating tabletop touch-screen computer display. The KV7 is Wi-Fi enabled, providing both the front and rear displays with Internet capabilities and the ability for multiple passengers to connect their smart phones to the vehicle at one time and sign on to social networking sites.
Building on the experimental use of LED lighting elements found on the exterior, the KV7?s concept’s interior also features multiple flush-to-the-floor accent illumination points and standout green LED lighting throughout the front dash, instrument panel and rear display area to compliment the vehicle’s color palette.
