New Hyundai RB Sedan Model
With elegant lines that resemble a calligrapher’s “orchid strokes,” the concept RB continues Hyundai Motor’s ‘fluidic sculpture’ design philosophy that injects sophistication and dynamic angles into the shape of a vehicle. The fluidic essence that characterizes molding design of Hyundai’s latest models is inspired by nature, realizing the harmonic coexistence of all things created. Among the strong design hints are the large hexagonal front grill, headlamps and “L”-shaped fog lamps.
When the production sub-compact sedan arrives in Russia, it will be powered by the 1.6L or 1.4L DOHC in-line four cylinder gasoline Gamma engines with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing). The estimated power and torque of 1.6 Gamma are respectively 124ps and 156 N.m while those of 1.4 Gamma are 107ps and 135 N.m. The units will be mated to a four-speed automatic transmission or a standard five-speed manual transaxle. Production version of this concept car is scheduled to begin at Hyundai’s plant in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in January 2011, and will join the Hyundai lineup in the spring of 2011.

The Audi Q3 features a sporty and progressive design. The single-frame grille with its tapered upper corners dominates the front; its outline is extended by the dynamic curve of the engine hood. The wedge-shaped headlights are available as a xenon plus version including LED daytime running lights. Large air inlets hint at the potential of the engines. Viewed from the side, the Q3 similarly exhibits Audi’s classic design characteristics. The tornado line divides the side underneath the windows.
The dynamic line imparts additional flourishes near the side sills and the wheel arches have a muscular look. Metal constitutes two thirds of the vehicle’s exterior; the greenhouse the remaining third. The roof line slopes markedly toward the ground; the D-posts resemble those of a coupe.
Despite its coupe-like styling, the Audi Q3 is clearly recognizable as a member of the Q family. Its wraparound tailgate is similar in design to those on its larger siblings, the Q5 and Q7. In conjunction with the xenon plus headlights, LED light strips serve as tail lights. The exhaust system’s tailpipes terminate to the left and to the right.
The Audi Q3 is 4.39 meters in length (14.4 ft), 1.83 meters in width (6.0 ft), and 1.60 meters (5.25 ft) in height – roof rail included. Its drag coefficient of 0.32 raises the bar in this segment; moreover, its underbody fairing facilitates optimum airflow – underneath the vehicle, too.
In addition to the standard black add-on parts, customers can choose either a full paint finish or color-contrasting add-on parts in anthracite gray for the underbody guard and wheel arches. The Audi exclusive off-road styling package gives the Q3 a broad and powerful look. The S line exterior package, conversely, represents classic Audi and appeals to especially sporty customers. The passenger cell incorporates a great many tailored blanks as well as extremely strong hot-formed steel.
These components are quite thin, which reduces the vehicle’s weight. The tailgate and the engine hood of the Audi Q3 are made of aluminum. The front-wheel drive version of Audi’s latest model weighs less than 1,500 kilograms (3,307 lb).
Interior Design
Inside, a large wrap-around curve encapsulates the driver and the front-seat passenger – a feature familiar from the brand’s large model lines. The dashboard’s horizontal layout underscores its width. An optional color display (as large as seven inches diagonally) on the instrument panel is a first in the Q series. Five color concepts are available for the interior: black, gray, beige, and two shades of brown. With regard to upholstery, there are three fabric designs and three leather designs. For the inlays, there are four optional versions – including open-pored larch inlays and new silvery aluminum inlays with supplementary wire mesh and a 3D look.
Among the options are an on-board computer with efficiency program, an ambient lighting package with a LED lights, a panoramic glass roof, a storage package, sports seats, Adaptive light technology for the xenon plus headlights. The luggage compartment has a capacity that ranges from Its 460-liter (16.24 cu ft) to a volume of 1,365 liters (48.2 cu ft) with the split rear seat backrests folded

Design Story of Ford Vertrek Concept

This compact SUV concept is called as Ford Vertrek. This elegance SUV design has awesome exterior design and high – tech interior performance. The design of this Ford Vertek takes inspiration from the European Ford Kuga crossover. The sleek exterior design is a main character of this Ford Vertek SUV variant. Design Story of Ford Vertrek Concept
“The world is changing and consumers are looking for a new compact SUV,” said J Mays, group vice president, Design, and chief creative officer.
“They work hard, play hard and desire a vehicle that reflects that outlook and stands out. We believe the Vertrek concept will fulfill what they’re looking for.”
Ford Vertrek Concept, the design
The core goal of kinetic design is to create vehicles that imply motion even when standing still and convey Ford’s driving dynamics qualities.
“The building blocks of kinetic design – defining the stance and how the body is set over the wheels; strong and precisely executed surfacing; the dynamic, expressive lines and creating a sleeker aerodynamic profile – are all very much in line with what we believe customers want in future compact SUVs,” said Martin Smith, Ford executive design director.
The Vertrek concept takes its inspiration from the European Ford Kuga crossover, hailed as the design leader in its segment, and takes the promise of a future global compact SUV to the next level.
The new sleeker, sportier design intelligently integrates the capability requirements that customers demand in this segment with an interior cargo volume comparable to today’s Ford Escape.
“Overall, the Vertrek concept is a sleeker, sportier and smarter representation of what customers want in a compact SUV,” said Smith.
“Additionally, the exquisite detailing, such as the execution of the headlamps, taillamps and wheels, evokes advanced technology and craftsmanship.”
The exterior color is Liquid Platinum, chosen to bring out the strong sculpturing of Vertrek while stressing the sophistication and premium execution of the vehicle’s personality.
Key exterior design attributes of the Ford Vertrek concept include:
Lower trapezoidal grille: A key design cue, now divided into three sections as first seen with the new Ford Focus, immediately identifies Vertrek as the latest Ford
Slimmer headlamp and taillamp treatment: Highlights the advanced technology, craftsmanship and detailing throughout the vehicle
Hood: Muscular surfacing signals advanced powertrain solutions
Faster roofline: Sleek look conveys improved aerodynamics and fuel efficiency
Rising beltline: Conveys dynamic presence
Wheel arches: Create solid, athletic stance
Wheels: Combine bold sportiness with lightweight appeal
Panoramic roof: Graphically linked to the rear glass by the dramatic rear spoiler
“Based on the reception of the Fiesta and all-new Focus models, customers are excited by our new global design strategy,” said Smith.
“So it makes absolute sense to offer kinetic design in our next generation of compact utility vehicles as well.”
Interior Design
The Vertrek concept interior is lightweight and spacious and conveys all the expressive flair evident in the exterior.
As the focal point of the interior, the instrument panel displays shapes and forms that are absolutely unique, and further demonstrates Ford’s kinetic design language.
The wing-like profile spans the cockpit and visually extends through the side glass into the rear view camera. The center console swoops into the interior and develops into a central bridge flowing through the vehicle.
The theme of sophisticated craftsmanship is evident throughout the interior, including the instrument panel wrapped in Dusk Grey leather, contrasted and cooled by the satin-tinted platinum tones of the center console. The fluorescent detailing comes as a surprising highlight.
The execution of the four individual seats communicates sportiness and relaxation. The slim seats are clad in naturally tanned, velour leather and, says Smith, “have the robust quality of Bavarian lederhosen.”
This is offset throughout the interior by the modernistic touch of neon red-orange fluorescent highlights – an intriguing combination of traditional and high-tech. The seats are of slim construction, showcased by the central spine support.
Replacing conventional carpet, Vertrek concept incorporates handcrafted woven-leather floor materials. Functional elements on the steering wheel, doors, cluster and instrument panel have a polished, premium finish that demonstrates craftsmanship normally seen on premium products.
“The Ford Vertrek concept brings new excitement to the global crossover and compact SUV arena and is our vision of how kinetic design can redefine this increasingly popular segment for Ford globally,” said Mays.
“The very name Vertrek signals versatility and capability, typifying the personality of the revolution in this market.
